There are only 24 Fridays left until Christmas and in a mini UK heatwave it can definitely feel like the year is racing by and what I really need right now is to sit with a cool lemon drink in the sunshine.
Each month we create a resource pack to help you out - whether for families, school classes, uniformed groups or church groups, designed to celebrate each day. This month our pack has over 70 pages... here are some highlights to watch out for:
8th July sees Cow Appreciation Day - whether it's highland coos or fresian wonders these fun animals add a delight to many landscapes.
10th July is the Full Moon, this month it is Buck Moon, not the money but reflecting the antlers of male deers (no one mention Rudolph!)
On the 19th July it is the 200th day of the year - well over half way but a great marker to celebrate and reflect on the year so far and all that is ahead.
The 21st and 23rd give us an excuse for a treat with ice cream day and lemon day and the 27th is a great reason to sit under or climb up a tree.
If you haven't looked at our packs, do take a look. There are loads more resources in the pack including ways to increase your devotional time, prayer pages and 4 full weekly sessions. Available to see each day on the website or download from www.ko-fi.com/muddychurch.
Exciting news is our brand new release of Micah 6:8 - a really challenging but loved Bible verse that asks us what God requires of us. The resource pack offers two different versions for you to pick which style is most appropriate for your group whilst the website offers an online trail (https://www.muddychurch.co.uk/items-9). Additionally there are activity sheets, devotional material, crafts, response actions and a full session plan - all available ready to go, just download it.
If you are wondering what to do over the Summer we do have loads more resources - the Jonah holiday club and we still have some of the wandering books available to go with this. We have the huge summer pack, which we loved last year printed off for a long journey and free activities for picnics or visits. We have the screen free pack which is lots of fun if you have someone you really want to engage beyond their game and we have ideas for rainy days PLUS summer challenges which are great to print off and share to families as some fun over the holidays. Also any of these are great for teachers to give as take home sheets for fun, free, considerate activities.
All of our resources are free and we hope that people feel a part of our community where we offer these to help when money is tight and we can pay it forward at other times when we are able. Muddy Church has no funding apart from these donations and as a family we give to keep the ministry going because we see the difference it makes. At this time of year though there are several big bills that come in and this year we are going overseas on mission and so finance is given to that and it is really difficult to cover the bills. We would really, really appreciate it if you could consider a one off gift or regular support to help us out. You can donate on the www.ko-fi.com/muddychurch site. I always hate to ask but I also know that this is an amazing way that we can all help each other out and you can be an active part of the Muddy Church family.
I am available to chat through ideas, to speak at events or conferences or to help with setting up or running Muddy Church so don't hesitate to get in touch if this would be good for you. (https://www.muddychurch.co.uk/bio)
Thanks so much, grab your wellies and a heart for adventure—Muddy Church July-style is all about inspiring kids to do justice, love mercy and walk humbly… and setting them up to thrive come September!
